The discone antenna belongs to the class of ultra-wideband antennas. Practical designs are easily capable of covering more than the triple frequency band, i.e. when the maximum frequency is more than three times the minimum frequency. This calculator allows you to calculate such an antenna. Antenna polarization is vertical, the radiation pattern is circular. The gain of a discone antenna is close to 0 dBi, almost like that of an isotropic radiator. The input impedance is close to 50 ohms. The antenna can be used as a self-made indoor antenna of a GSM/4G repeater, or as an outdoor antenna for a scanning all-wave receiver.

Limitations and features of antenna calculations
The antenna is a simplified version of the ultra-wideband biconical antenna. Just the second cone is substituted by a disc. The graphs below show the characteristics of the antenna designed for a minimum frequency of 750 MHz (default value above). It can be seen from the graphs that although the antenna remains operational up to frequencies about 3.33 GHz, the optimal characteristics of the antenna remain in the range of 0.88..2.20 GHz. This optimal range is reflected in the calculator in the cell ΔFopt. SWR within ΔFopt does not exceed 1.4. Click on a graph to enlarge:
Soft tin or foil can be used to make the disc and cone. The disk can be made of PCB. Disc and cone are separated by a suitable insulating spacer. The problem of how to do this constructively while maintaining the hardness of the structure falls entirely on your shoulders, friends. You just need to remember that the feeder braid is connected to the cone, and the central conductor to the disk.
